In accordance with the Texas State Plan for the Education of Gifted and Talented Students, Round Rock ISD offers an array of learning experiences to meet the needs of gifted and high ability learners. In this blog, throughout the we will describe and explain various pieces of our service model.
Let’s start with Talent Development. When students are identified for services in elementary school, they start with Talent Development. In this program, students will be clustered in homeroom classes with teachers trained in gifted education who use differentiation strategies to support their learners. Additionally, Talented and Gifted Specialists work with the students to develop critical thinking skills using the Think Law curriculum, provide social and emotional learning, exploration activities, and complete Advanced Level Products and Performances (ALPPS) that are showcased at the end of the year with schools from their vertical learning community.
