The Gifted Education Family Network (GEFN) has selected Raine Maggio as the 2022 Gifted Administrator of the Year. This was the group’s inaugural year for the GT Excellence Awards program which honors administrators committed to equity and excellence.
Raine had recently served as the District’s Gifted and Advanced Academics coordinator. Her current role as the Director of Enrichment will allow her to continue serving all Round Rock ISD students and families by providing both classroom and after school enrichment opportunities.
“I am honored to receive this award because it speaks to the focus of Round Rock ISD’s commitment to families and to equitable identification and services in gifted education,” said Maggio.
The Gifted Education Family Network of Texas supports excellence and equity in gifted education by engaging in activities in three areas: (a) connecting families who have an interest in gifted education, (b) educating and supporting families on topics related to gifted education and talent development, and (c) advocating for strong, vibrant, and appropriately challenging education programs that benefit students who demonstrate exceptional performance or the potential for exceptional performance.
“Raine is an amazing partner to the families and gifted students of Texas, and should be extremely proud of the positive impact she has made,” said Sabrina James, GEFN Parent Resource Group Committee. “We are all very grateful!
